Since the creation of its organic pearls, women around the world have trusted Majorica and its classic and elegant jewels for special occasions. Nowadays, Majorica constantly incorporates designs that reflect new fashion trends, created for the most demanding women who are not only looking for the quality and guarantees of Majorica jewels, but also for a unique design, full of Mediterranean inspiration. Majorica jewels are made by the company's team of expert artisan jewellers, following the ideas developed by the group of designers in charge of discovering trends and bringing them to life in the form of jewellery pieces. The result of this work is reflected in collections that combine tradition, the latest trends, and elegant designs that make Majorica jewels the perfect accessories for any kind of occasion.
In 1952, after a great many tests with a great many substances, Geza Zsolt, a chemist of Hungarian origin, created the Majorica pearl as it we know it today. Using natural organic marine substances, Zsolt managed to reproduce the aspect of the most prized natural pearls with incredible preciseness, while also achieving unique levels of quality and resistance. It was the birth of the Majorica pearl. The event marked a new era of prestige for the company in the national and international markets: the Majorica pearl would soon be considered the most perfect imitation of natural pearls in several jewellery handbooks across the world.
The history of Majorica started in 1890, with the figure of an innovative German entrepreneur, Eduardo Hugo Heusch, whose fascination by pearls inspired him to manufacture artificial pearls. Heusch found the craftsmanship and tradition he was looking for in the spanish town of Manacor. Since then, the head office of Majorica has been established on the island of Mallorca, one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean. This was the start of a tradition and a profession, and a passion for fashion trends in jewellery, from which the Majorica we know today was to emerge.
