custom design process

DESIGN CONSULTATION

Here you will meet with one of our jewellery consultants to discuss the piece. In this meeting we will establish design concept, the type of gemstones you may prefer and metal preferences.  Coming to the meeting with sketches or images are helpful for the designer to understand what you like.  We are also very happy to start from scratch and begin discussing details buy establishing likes and dislikes. One of the key elements on the new piece will be gemstones.  At this time, we will establish your preferences and if they are not in stock allow 1-2 days for us to bring them in. Seeing and choosing your gems firsthand is a benefit of working with a local jeweller.

WAX MODELING

A wax mold is sculpted by our expert goldsmith replicating your concept or fitting your existing piece of jewellery. After viewing the wax you are given an opportunity to request any final alterations. Following your approval of the wax our goldsmith begins casting your one-of-a-kind creation.

PRODUCTION

Your piece will now be cast into the metal of your choice.  After casting, the piece will be polished, assembled and the gemstones set.  The final finishing touches are then completed and presented in a beautiful Vandenbergs blue box.
