When thinking of wedding anniversary gift-giving, what is the first thing that comes to mind?
Traditionally we know for the first-year anniversary the gift involves paper…Second year cotton and so on. It isn’t until the 60th year when a diamond comes onto the scene. That’s just not right!!
Years ago, DeBeers coined the phrase “anniversary ring” which today seems to still be the standard answer when asking the question above. Times are changing…it’s time to start thinking differently when it comes to anniversaries and diamonds.
For example, we read an article the other day where an older man was asking a younger man “did he know what an anniversary diamond was?”
The younger man had not heard the term anniversary diamond. “What is it?"
The older man explained “Every diamond makes a statement, but an anniversary diamond should be twice as big as the one in her engagement ring.”
“Why twice as big?” asked the younger man.
The older man replied with a wink “it says, I love you twice as much today as the day you married me.”
“That’s great!” replied the younger man.
So, let’s ask that question again...when thinking of anniversary gift-giving, what is the first thing to come to mind?
What if your beloved, for her anniversary, wanted something other than a ring? This is where presenting a loose diamond, twice the size is the best idea!
Possibly she may want to design a new ring, but a pendant may be the exact gift she had in mind. What if she had it mounted on a pin to wear in her hat?! The most important decision should be hers…it relieves the guessing from the giver and allows her imagination to go wild as she holds her beautifully presented loose diamond.
How she wears her anniversary diamond doesn’t matter…The most important point is she knows for certain how much you love her! And you would happily marry her all over again.
